WHAT IS ONLINE THERAPY?

Online therapy, also known as Telehealth or Teletherapy, is the providing of counseling services through the use of a HIPAA compliant audio and visual teleconferencing technology. Our service is easy to access and does not require any special software or registration, you simply follow the secure link on any computer, phone, or tablet that is connected to the internet. Please note that while we will take every precaution to ensure your privacy and confidentiality, we cannot account for any people who may overhear your session. Therefore, we encourage you to be alone, in a quiet location, and use headphones to maximize privacy.

WHO CAN USE ONLINE THERAPY?

This service is available to individuals or couples who are currently located within Arizona. We typically offer online therapy for any adult and older adolescent clients seeking individual or couples counseling. This service is also available for critical incident therapy. However, we generally do not recommend this service for family therapy or any therapy involving children younger than the age of 16.

HOW LONG ARE THERAPY SESSIONS?

Online therapy is typically offered in 45-55 minute sessions occurring weekly or biweekly depending on treatment needs and insurance coverage. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee additional time or “make up time” if you are experiencing technical difficulties or internet disruption.

HOW DOES INSURANCE WORK WITH ONLINE THERAPY?

Please be aware that not all insurances provide coverage for teletherapy and some may have additional restrictions, limitations, or provisions. Prior to beginning services, we will conduct an eligibility and verification of benefits check to provide you with estimated costs, as well as any restrictions or provisions imposed by your insurance provider. However, we are not responsible for any changes or contradictions in coverage. We strongly recommend you to communicate directly with your insurance to best understand your benefits as you may be financially responsible for out-of-pocket costs for any balance unpaid by insurance.
